Basics of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Presented by Dr. Kishor Khankari, Ph.D. President and Owner at AnSight LLC
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is commonly used to analyze and optimize HVAC performance by studying airflow patterns, thermal comfort, and dispersion of infectious aerosols in built environments. However, many HVAC professionals lack clear understanding of fundamental concepts of CFD. This session aims to systematically discuss various aspects of CFD analysis processes. The main objective is to provide essential knowledge about CFD and explain how to assess CFD outcomes. This course is particularly developed for ASHRAE student and YEA members. It will also help HVAC design engineers and practitioners grasp the core principles of CFD.
